Pros!
- Likeness closely captures Christopher Reeve’s Superman, especially in profile and certain angles.
- Includes three distinct head portraits, including a bonus smiling head.
- Suit fabric closely matches the movie look with detailed ‘House of El’ crest and authentic cape with posing wire.
- Over 28 points of articulation, including double-jointed elbows and knees, strong neck mobility, and ab-crunch for dynamic posing.
- Extensive accessories, including nine interchangeable hands, kryptonite shard and necklace with real metal chain, and a flying stand.
- Fortress of Solitude display base features light-up feature activated by inserting any of the included Kryptonian crystals or via on/off switch.
- Hand-painted authentic detailing with realistic skin tones and clean hair sculpt and paint.
- Unique tin packaging adds collector value and aesthetic appeal.
Cons!
- Cape wire is only along the sides, limiting natural cape drape; glued fabric wire feels somewhat flimsy.
- Smiling head sculpt has paint inconsistencies, including excessive freckling and slightly off teeth paint.
- Boots are a darker red shade that doesn’t perfectly match the rest of the red in the costume.
- Suit seams and sleeve length could be better tailored; sleeves can’t fully cover wrists without bunching.
- Limited ankle rocker due to boots, restricting deep pose stances.
- Light base requires small screwdriver to insert batteries, which may inconvenience some collectors.
