This figure is influenced by the version of Nightwing introduced in The New 521 comic series from 2011-2014. Starting in Nightwing Vol 3, #12, Nightwing is rebooted with a black and red suit in place of his usual black and blue suit.

It's really influenced by, but not accurately representative of this version of Nightwing, as there are several differences in the design. For example, the red symbol on the chest is smaller and raised on the figure, instead of being a part of the fabric of the suit that wraps around from the front, across the shoulders, onto the back, like the comics. The gloves, gauntlets, and belt all differ from the comic design. The comic design also didn't have shoulder pads or knee pads.
