This is the version of the Joker portrayed in the Batman: The Animated Series¹ TV show, which aired from 1992-1995. The design was influenced by the darker themes in Tim Burton's Batman (1989) and Batman Returns, but replaced the gothic influence with Art Deco. The characters were given more simplistic designs and clothing than the comics to facilitate easier drawing for better animation. The Joker in this series was famously voiced by Mark Hamill.
